⚓️Car Driver Panics as Ship Approaches Duluth Lift Bridge!

On December 12, 2024, the largest lake ship in the world, the Paul R. Tregurtha, approached the iconic Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge on a snowy winter night. As the 1013-foot ship neared, a terrified driver stopped their car on the bridge, panicking as the bells rang and the lights flashed, fearing the bridge would lift with their vehicle still on it. The bridge operator had to yell multiple times over the intercom to get the car to move.

In this video, I interviewed the driver, a visitor from South Dakota, who described the moment as truly terrifying for his family. The situation was resolved just in time, and the massive ship passed under the Lift Bridge, blasting its horn in a powerful salute, with the bridge crew returning the horn blast. Snow fell steadily throughout, creating a stunning Duluth winter backdrop for this incredible moment.
