One of the biggest challenges facing Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen isn't the decades-long pre-alpha, or the lack of quality video content to showcase its features. It's the tribalism and gatekeeping from its most hardcore fanbois who call anyone who doesn't fit their critera of a "perfect" Pantheon supporter a "loser" and tell them to go pound sand.

Visionary Realms has made it clear they want their game to be more than niche. They want to have players from all corners of the MMORPG sandbox come join them for their PvE gameplay, which combines old-school mechanics with modern features. Yet some of their most hardcore supporters seem to be undermining that idea when they tell anyone who has a difference of opinion that they are "confused" or "wrong" or that "this isn't going to be the game for you, so run along."

If you want to be more than niche in the MMORPG space, you have to appeal to ALL gamers. Yes, even the Asmongolds. The only thing holding Pantheon back from being successful is its own hardcore supporters.

Less gatekeeping and tribalism, and more inclusiveness, say I. So say we all! Those of us who want Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen to have the greatest chances of success support a game that includes ALL types of gamers, from ALL walks of life, from ALL corners of the MMO space. We welcome ALL of your points of view, and find them equal to our own, even if we don't necessarily agree on all of them.
