Описание к видео Persona 5 Royal Performance Test, PC VS Switch (Emulated) | i3 2120/4GB RAM/GT 1030

| - Beginning of the Description - |

So, during the Spring Sale back in March I bought a handful of games on Steam, Persona 5 Royal was among them.
Yesterday, I tried it out thinking that being a native PC version I would get better results than I did emulating the Switch version.
I didn't have many expectations, I just thought I'd be able to run the game at 30 FPS constantly, without frame rate drops.
Sadly enough, that was not the case.
The game seems to run fine in isolated set pieces like the palace you escape from during the game's intro, but certain things such as specific visual effects during cutscenes or crowds of NPCs maximize the usage of my CPU thus annihilating the frame rate completely.
Then again, there's also a crowd of NPCs in the train station and the game holds up just fine, so.

Whatever the case, I recorded a video of that disastrous result, but since uploading it alone would have been a tad lame, I decided to revisit the same chunk of the game (the beginning of the game that is) on the Switch version emulated with Yuzu and cook up a video with my amazing(ly poor) video editing skills.

As it can be seen in the OSD, the rendering API is marked as Vulkan. That's because I'm using DXVK.
Without it, the game maximized the GPU usage in the titlescreen instead of the CPU usage, but the result is basically the same so it didn't matter at all in the end.

The video quality suffered plenty. I mean, I recorded 2 videos on OBS at 720p, encoded each once using Handbrake and then re-encoded them when I merged them and did my (lame) video editing magic with Shotcut, so it's only natural.
The result of that was a 7GB video btw. Truly ridiculous.

Having reached this point, assuming anyone actually did, you may be wondering why exactly am I using such an old version of Yuzu to run the game (the exact same version I recorded my last video of it in fact.)
The answer is simple; in the latest builds of Yuzu, the game crashes.
Yuzu's log prints there's a device loss error, which after looking up I learned is caused by an incompatibility with the GPU driver.
Since I'm not willing to downgrade mine, I just used the last version that I knew was working instead.

Perhaps I'll revisit the PC Version the day in which ATLUS and/or Sega decide to remove Denuvo.
For the time being, I'll just play the Switch version (which I didn't do back when I recorded videos of the game because I was busy playing other stuff.)
