Health Minister ELIJAH MUCHIMA says there is need to address the growing problem of patients left without support after receiving medical treatment.

Dr MUCHIMA says the miscommunication between referral systems and post-treatment care has left many distressed and destitute, prompting a government-led review of current procedures.

He told ZNBC News that this mostly happens to patients from various provinces are transported for treatment by ambulance, helicopter, or plane and later discharged with no clear assistance for their return.
