🎙️ Shure SH55 Series II Microphone Review!

In this video, I review the Shure SH55 Series II XLR vocal microphone having used the mic for about 3-4 months on my own YouTube and Streaming content. Is the Shure SH55 a secret budget XLR Streaming Mic? Is it the best XLR streaming mic?

I take a look at the Shure SH55 as a budget mic alternative to some of the higher end mics out there and share my own experiences. I talk about whether it's a worthwhile purchase and worth adding this microphone to your streaming or studio rig!

Choosing the right microphone is really difficult as everyone's needs and purposes vary significantly. I recently upgraded from a HyperX Quadcast USB mic, to a Shure SH55 Series II XLR mic, combined with a GoXLR Mini. In this video, I share my experiences about the Shure SH55 mic, and hopefully provide some useful insight into who this microphone is good for, and who it might not be so good for in terms of recommendation.

I talk about the pros and cons of the "Elvis Mic" Shure SH55 Series II, in comparison to different uses including streaming on Twitch, YouTube Gaming and Facebook Gaming, and then of course for vocal singing and studio formats.

When shopping for an XLR microphone it's really important to take into account the actual use you're likely to need the mic for as the sound quality can vary a lot depending on how you're intending on using the microphone. In this video I break down the cost versus quality dilema for the Shure SH55 and also talk about the Shure SM7B too as a comparator mic.

The Shure SH55 is iconic and absolutely beautiful, but may not be right for your needs. I found it to be very good in some regards, but weaker in others. I also provide some insight into how to set up your GoXLR for an XLR microphone.
