Mobile vise stand built as HEAVY as possible

Описание к видео Mobile vise stand built as HEAVY as possible

I got a old vise from a lady who lived near the workshop. I built a vise stand with it.
I had a hard time deciding what kind of design I wanted.
I decided on "4" design concepts for this video.

1,The shape should be simple.
2,To be a one-day project.
3,Use scrap materials and do not incur costs. (My projects always are)
And
4, The design should be easy to move.
The design of the building was determined as follows.

When the rough build was complete I noticed...
It's so light!

So I decided to fill the tube with something.

Sand, ..no.I don't have it..
Soil, ..rust...?
Then what to do?

As a solution to those
切削粉 (SESSAKU-KO) was put inside the tube.
This is steel Cutting powder, so it is heavy in specific gravity, and I thought it would be a good idea to prevent rust from forming on the tube itself.
It worked, and the vise stand became heavy and stable.

Despite being exposed to the rain, the vise was in relatively good condition, and only required light maintenance to complete.
(I really wanted to put this in a rust-removal bath to get it all shined up, but maybe someday I'll get around to it.)

Thanks for watching the video and I hope you enjoyed it!
