Spotlight on the 2025 IWUF Athlete of the Year Candidates!
Meet Lau Chi Lung (Hong Kong, China) one of candidates for 2025 IWUF Wushu Taolu Athlete of the Year. He joined the Hong Kong, China wushu team in 2010 and won his first gold medal at the World Junior Championships in 2012. He subsequently won gold medals at the World Junior Championships in 2014, 2016 and 2018, respectively. He won his first medal at the World Wushu Championships in 2019, and his first gold medal at the World Championships in 2023. He won two more gold medals in 2025 at 17th World Wushu Championships in nandao and nangun, and the silver medal in nanquan. Previously, he also won the gold medal at the 3rd Taolu World Cup in nanquan. Beyond the arena, Lau Chi Lung actively promotes wushu at various levels by participating in demonstrations, workshops, and seminars. His involvement in community service programs fosters youth interest in wushu, while his leadership and innovative approaches inspire others and propel the sport's growth.
