1. Big news for PlayStation fans: Sony has officially announced the shutdown of PlayStation Stars, its digital loyalty program that launched in 2022. The program, which allowed players to earn points through challenges, purchases, and gameplay, will completely shut down by November 2026. New sign-ups are no longer accepted, and starting next week, no more digital collectibles or points can be earned. Current members still have time to redeem existing rewards, so don’t let those points go to waste!

2. Meanwhile, there’s something to celebrate. Ghost of Tsushima turns 5! Launched in 2020 by Sucker Punch Productions, this iconic samurai action game became one of PlayStation’s most beloved exclusives. To mark the occasion, a free set of Jin Sakai PSN avatars, created by Afro Samurai artist Takashi Okazaki, has been released. 3. Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3, CD Projekt RED just dropped a massive patch focused on vehicle customization and driving improvements. Players can now unlock 3 new cars and a fully customizable motorcycle. Plus, the new Auto Drive feature lets your ride take the wheel in Night City, obeying traffic laws and navigating routes with ease. Other updates include Photo Mode upgrades, Variable Refresh Rate for consoles, and FSR 4 + AMD FFX Super Resolution 3.1 for PC, bringing improved visuals and smoother performance.

4. Virtuos Studio Layoffs, Despite working on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and the successful Oblivion Remastered, Virtuos has laid off over 300 employees across Asia and Europe. Reports suggest poor contract structuring on Oblivion Remastered might’ve cost the studio financially. Protests are even rumoured to be forming within the company.

5. Assassin’s Creed is heading to Netflix! Ubisoft and Netflix have officially begun production on a live-action Assassin’s Creed series. With showrunners from Westworld and Halo, the adaptation promises to blend the franchise’s historical sci-fi roots with fresh storytelling and high-stakes action. This marks the first of several projects from Netflix and Ubisoft’s multi-title partnership.
