The powerful quake has killed at least 14 people and left over 200 injured.

There has been significant structural damage in the capital, Port Vila, with at least 10 buildings and three bridges severely affected.

Power and mobile services were disrupted, leaving many residents unable to communicate.

Six people died in a landslide, while four others were trapped in a collapsed building.

The government has declared a seven-day state of emergency to assist rescue efforts and limit public movement.

With widespread destruction and ongoing operations, the death toll is expected to rise further.
