Sim Racing Hardware - Fanatec CSL Elite LC Pedal Set Mini Review

We're going to look at the Fanatec CSL Elite LC Pedal set, unbox it, assemble and try it out. Now it is no secret that I've had these pedals for some time now so this is also my impression of these pedals after using them for some time.

The set comes in two boxes, one containing the CSL Elite throttle and clutch (non-LC brake), the other the LC brake pedal, USB cable and a new control hub which incidentally also has room for a handbrake should you wish to fit one.

Assembly is a simple affair, swap over the control hubs, bolt on the pedals, plug them into the control hub and away you go. At this point though you might want to do some customisation, especially of the stiffness of the brake pedal. I for example did away with the little foam pad and replaced it with another damper.

Once assembled the set fit nicely on both of my GT Omega rigs, installation was a breeze using the USB cable.

So what do I think of the pedal set after 4 months of use? Well I've made some minor changes - swapped the throttle and clutch pedals as the clutch had a stiffer spring. I also got rid of the rubber face so my foot could better slide up and down it. The pedals aren't a great fit for my clown feet but they have helped me with consistency. Would I recommend them? Yes, for the budget, but they do have some limitations. I find the throttle too light even now and I'm at the maximum pressure available for the brake pedal.
