Katherine Hilden "Morality in Modern Art"

Описание к видео Katherine Hilden "Morality in Modern Art"

Katherine Hilden is an Evanston artist who teaches painting and drawing at the Evanston Art Center. She discusses the Bauhaus, a school of design founded in 1919, dedicated to inventing a new visual environment that would promote health, dignity, and efficiency without social hierarchy and deceptive ornamentation. She also tells us about Picasso’s early art, which was rooted in a rejection of the ecclesiastical and social assumptions of the Renaissance, and elevates the artist as the creator of new insights into self-hood.
Katherine spoke to us on April 24, 2016.
