When this video goes live, Ash's final episode will have just finished airing. It's hard to explain how I feel about that, really. Pokemon has been the one constant thing in my life, something that was always there, no matter what else would change in my life. I met most of my most important people thanks to this franchise. And while PokeSpe might be my "favorite" part of Pokemon, PokeAni and Ash at it's core were always the thing that best captured this connection I have to it. And also the most important part for me, really. I was like, 3, when I saw my first episode on TV, sneaking into the living room when my brother was watching. Now I'm 26, moving countries, starting a job, getting married, still following the adventures of this dorky 10 year old. And he's been everything to me through the years, my first crush, my best friend when I was a lonely teenager, my son whom I was watching grow from this hot headed idiot to literal world champion. But most important, he will always be my best boy, my favorite character, no matter how many other favorites come and go through the years. I will never stop smiling thinking about his pure, unwavering love for Pokemon.

PokeAni got me into editing, back then I didn't really expect I would still be doing this 15 years later. And now I got to edit a video to say goodbye to him for good and it hurts. I shed an embarrassing amount of tears while working on this video, but well.
When they announced Ash's final episode literally my first instinct was to edit something for him with my Pokemon editing friends. I am so thankful that so many of them decided to work with me on this, I really think there couldn't be a more worthy sendoff to him than this. Everyone really put their heart and soul into their parts, we cried together editing this thing. It was very cathartic honestly. And I truly think we captured all the aspects of his character so well in this video. You can just FEEL all the love pouring out. And the fact that so many of us got together feels so fitting, considering the entire theme of Pokemon is making friends through our shared experiences, and our shared love for these little creatures.

That said, thank you, Ash and Pikachu. For being there for me when I was a struggling teenager and didn't have anyone else, for connecting me with the best people one could ask for in their life, for bringing me so much joy through all these years, and for massively influencing the person I grew up to be. I'll never forget you two, and I'll never stop cheering for you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
