Gouache Techniques & Textures: Replicating Artwork from The Ren & Stimpy Show

Описание к видео Gouache Techniques & Textures: Replicating Artwork from The Ren & Stimpy Show

You asked for it! I had a request to do a piece from The Ren & Stimpy Show and I was more than happy to oblige. I loved the show, which ran from 1991-1996 and was like nothing else I had seen. Originally conceived by Canadian artist, John Kricfaluci and developed by Bob Camp, Jim Smith, and Lynne Naylor, the series was made to break all the rules of animation. It was as low brow as it gets, and played with the Mid-Century style in new, "muddy" ways.

I'm not sure who originally made this piece, so if you know, please leave their name in the comments below. I'm guessing it was Bob Camp... but yeah, not sure. I will learn more about The Ren & Stimpy Show and it's creators as I plan to do more of these.

Supplies Used:

*Holbein acrylic gouache: True Red, Ultramarine, Primary Cyan, Primary Yellow, Black, and White
*Small, medium, and 1/2" flathead watercolour brush
*Illustration board
*Masking tape (use washi or "froggy" tape instead to avoid rips)
