ACTS has its genesis in 2006 when a small group of parishioners from the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Singapore went to share the joy of Christmas with the students of Don Bosco Phum Chreh School in Cambodia.

After their life-changing experience, they wanted to share the “joy of service” with others. What began as a small parish based initiative has since grown into a year round multi-parish program which culminates in the annual advent missions which in 2012 numbered several hundred (about 350 participants going to Phnom Penh alone). Since its conception, ACTS has expanded its missions to many parts of Cambodia. ACTS participants have come from as far away as Mauritius and include Malaysians and Australians amongst other and some have moved on to start their own projects to assist the less fortunate.

What is ACTS?
Our focus is on education especially of the children. Towards this end, we have engaged with our partners in Cambodia in particular the Salesian nuns and Church hierarchy to improve the education by developing infrastructure facilities, sending 250 refurbished computers annually, providing scholarships, up-grading of the trainers knowledge, getting volunteers for vocational training in food management and secretarial skills, training of Cambodian medical students amongst many other year round projects.

Mission Objectives of ACTS (A Call To Share)

1. To share the experience of Christ, skills and resources with the
i) Children
ii) Poor
iii) Needy (spiritual needs as well as physical)

2. To experience the joy of service with the participants, especially for the youths, to impart the love and joy of giving, to be happy to do it with a smile and to be dependent on the value systems of the 5 characteristics:
i) Christ-centredness
ii) Integrity
iii) Respect and humility
iv) Commitment
v) Generosity (especially in terms of resources and time)
