"Hello, I'm Paul Sokol and this is the overview video for the December 2013 free campaign of the month. This month, we are focusing on automating your coffee runs.

Now, on the surface, this particular campaign may seem underwhelmingly simple, even downright silly, but it is actually a cleverly disguised lesson on process automation and awareness. Plus, there ARE many different ways to use this besides coffee, so stick with me for a second

Here is the general idea: When you want to go on a coffee run, you invite a list of your co-workers to provide their drink order; which they do using this form. When it is time to go on the coffee run, you receive a list of everyone's order.

That's it! Again, this is a very simple campaign but think about it for a second: How do these types of internal things usually go down? Everyone invited gets an email asking for their drink order, and then your inbox gets flooded with a bunch of Reply All responses that have no value unless you are actually the one going on the coffee run. Then, if a reminder email goes out, again it usually goes to everyone clogging up your inbox even more.

So, let's explore how this campaign can fix that inefficient process. There are two emails asking for the coffee order. Each one is very simple and to the point. However, since the Coffee Run Order Collection form is the goal, the reminder email will only go to people who never submitted their order. The timing works out so the reminder email goes out 15 minutes before the list of orders is delivered to the coffee runner.

See how this is scheduled for 9:15 am and then the fulfillment list goes out at 9:30 am?

The coffee order form itself contains one field, and its not even a custom field. Whatever someone submits gets appended to the Notes field in their contact record, so we don't have to waste a custom field for this purpose.

Like I mentioned earlier, this can be modified to use in many different ways. Use it to collect lunch orders. You can collect t-shirt sizes if you want to make team shirts.

The high level lesson here is that we are simply collecting information AND are aware that the process can be streamlined. Can you use this with your prospects or customers? Absolutely! Maybe you are collecting ideas for blog posts, or maybe this is a survey, or maybe, you send this to a list of your prospects and modify the form to collect a phone number for an outbound phone call.

The possibilities are endless if you are present and aware in your day to day activities. Pay attention to what you are literally doing, and if you do something more than 3 times, see if you can fully or partially automate that activity.

As with any campaign in the marketplace, all setup instructions that you need to launch live underneath the campaign model. Simply install the campaign, follow the instructions, and you'll have the promotion up and running in no time!
