🏨 *Where We Stayed:*
We stayed at Hotel Treetop in Thekkady. We had a great experience - the staff was very friendly, and they have excellent facilities like a swimming pool, gym, and game rooms with table tennis and carroms. They also have a nice barbeque setup.

🚤 *Thekkady Boating:*
Book your tickets online in advance! The queues at the counter can be very long. For the best chance of spotting wildlife, we recommend the first batch in the morning (around 7:30 AM) or the last one in the evening (around 3:30 PM).

🏞️ *Other Activities:*
Thekkady isn't just about boating! There are plenty of trekking options and exciting jeep safaris available to explore more of the Periyar Tiger Reserve.

🚗 *Day Trip Idea - Meghamalai:*
Consider a trip to Meghamalai ("High Wavy Mountains"). It's a beautiful, less crowded spot about a 1 to 1.5-hour drive from Thekkady.
*Important:* The forest checkpost on the way to Meghamalai closes around 4 PM, so you need to plan your trip accordingly to ensure you can enter.
