When the wind disappeared I moved over to the west launch. People were hanging about waiting for something which wasn't going to come. I took the first puff of wind from the random thermals and headed round the front. I forgot to put on my vario so I hovered above the bowl for a while. My camera ran out of battery but I managed to join the gaggle well above the mountain before heading to the horse field. The wind was coming from the South and the West switching down the two valleys/channels out in front which made for an interesting climb out. I wasn't sure if it was a thermal or the guys wake that I hit but my glider was right behind me and I controlled the pressure on the brakes to stop it flying back overhead. I also noticed the blue glider being wacked in that exact place so maybe a combination of turbulence, rota and thermal coming up the bowl edge.
