Each time I visit Chikmagalur, I love to explore its coffee scene. From age old coffee houses to the exciting new wave of young but confident coffee-preneurs. In this outing with my friend, Charles Baptist, I discover a four-year-old modest café that, though born in the harsh shadows of the pandemic, has larger aspirations for its work. And a venerable 50-year-old coffee store where the third and fourth generation are busy not just continuing the traditions of the past, but also catering to a newer coffee palate. I hope you enjoy my visit to Motherland Coffee House and Vasavi Coffee. When in coffee town, Chikmagalur, definitely check them out.
