About the Band:
Step into the time machine, dear friends, as we journey back to a forgotten era in the heartland of Styria. Amidst the barren rock and metal landscape, where the pulse of the music scene was but a faint echo, a phoenix emerged from the ashes. They were young, brimming with talent, and fueled by an unrelenting passion for the explosive genre that was thrash metal. And so, like a prophecy fulfilled, they found each other on that fateful night at the "Monsters of Thrash Festival" within the hallowed halls of Vienna Rockhaus in 1988.
The Kapfenberg brothers, Christian and Martin Gruber, alongside Stefan Ebner, had already heard whispers of two remarkable musicians from Leoben, Markus Kronsteiner and Helmut Winter. As the night unfolded and the thunderous riffs ignited the air, a pact was made, and thus, Ekpyrosis was born.
