Are You An Artwalker?

Artwalk is Wakefield's bi-monthly evening celebrating art, performance, music, heritage and socialising.

Founded in 2008 and always free to attend, it has become a staple of the local arts scene and offers Wakefield’s creative community opportunities of all abilities to exhibit their work, meet, and sell to a growing number of visitors.

Embracing multiple venues from local landmarks to shop-fronts and bars, Artwalk visitors (aka Artwalkers) are invited to explore a range of creative events taking place throughout the evening. Regular venues include Westgate Studios, Wakefield Cathedral, The Ridings Shopping Centre and Wakefield Museum alongside many others which change for each event.

From November 2023 the Artwalk has been coordinated by an unfunded voluntary group, who firmly believe art is for all regardless of discipline and ability.
