Former Belmopan City Employee Plans to Sue Council Over Delayed Gratuity Payment

The former Belmopan City Council employee also claims the council is giving him the run around with his gratuity payment. In May, Kevon Arthurs Sr. was terminated as the council’s Engineering Manager after nineteen years on the job. And, according to him, the council agreed to pay him his gratuity in installments instead of a lump sum because of financial constraints. However, while he received the first installment without any hassle, he’s having difficulties getting the second payment. Earlier today, Arthurs spoke to Love News about the situation and why he plans on suing the council for breaching their contract. 

Our newsroom reached out to the Belmopan City Council, and they say Arthur’s payment was made and believe the financial institutions he uses may be responsible for the delay.
