Conclusion:
The Hydrapak 1l stow bottle will do the job when used in normal conditions such as leisure hikes, long travels or normal daily activities. When it comes to much more demanding use the reliability will be lesser due to its inherent flaws and weakness compared to hard bottles. But we were surprised of how well the material and design of the stow bottle handled abuse. We honestly expected punctures, much larger punctures, to happen earlier during testing. We also expected the cap to break and fail in a way that rendered the stow bottle useless. Various factors can affect its performance. For example if the user is sloppy with aligning the cap threads when screwing the cap on. Obviously it can only handle so much against sharp objects or rough surfaces that testing it against knife stabs, long drags on gravel and asphalt is pointless…. Few things in general handle lacerations and prolonged abrasion against rough surfaces.
