Paul reminds the Corinthians that human inadequacies reveal the love and grace of Jesus, whose power is perfected through weakness. Paul tells the church in Corinth that the gospel of Christ is none other than the New Covenant, written: "not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." - 2 Corinthians 3:3

Most of Paul's earlier concerns regarding immorality within the church in Corinth had been resolved. Titus informed Paul that some at Corinth were questioning Paul's authority as an apostle. Some questioned his veracity (2Cr 1:15-17), his speaking ability (2Cr 10:10; 11:6), and his unwillingness to accept support from the church at Corinth (2Cr 11:7-9; 12:13). There were also some people who had not repented of their licentious behavior (2Cr 12:20-21).

The book of 2 Corinthians offers more personal insight into Paul’s life than any other book in the New Testament.
