Dog Training Without a Shock Collar | The DogBone VLOG: Ep: #76

Dog training without a shot collar is what we do here at DogBone, and our goal is to show people who have the desire to do it without the collar how to do it. In today's training world, it seems like the message is out there that you have to use a shock collar to train a dog, which is simply untrue. We have seen shock collar people refer to it as the "magic wand" in training. I believe the collar creates more problems than it fixes, and if you have followed along with our stuff you know this is a topic that comes up very often.

Time doesn’t matter in training: It’s a problem we see come up time and time again. Many fixes for problems people are experiencing take time and consistency, and neither of those can be rushed. Dog training in general is a marathon, and almost every aspect of dog training needs patience, repetition, and consistency. Stop comparing your progress with your dog to others, every dog is different, and every dog develops in different time frames. The more you watch the clock, worry about where you should be at this age and where you’re not, and try to rush and force training to catch up, the slower your training will go. Dog training without a shock collar requires patience.

As Jeremy often says, “The best way to speed up dog training is by slowing down”.
