Steps:

Launch discord.

Now open up the user settings from the bottom left of the screen.

If you get an alert on this page telling you that you haven't confirmed your email address then you will need to do that first before you try to set up 2FA.

Click on the button called ‘enable 2 factor auth’.

You will now need to install a 2FA app on your phone. You get the option between using Authy or Google Authenticator. I'll choose the google one for this tutorial because I’m familiar with it.

On your phone, open up the play store or apple store and install Google Authenticator.

Now the 2FA app is installed we just need to connect it to discord. All you have to do is scan the barcode that is on the screen of discord. Alternatively, you could enter in the key instead of the barcode.

As soon as you do that it will sync automatically.

Enter the code into discord to confirm the connection.

The next time you sign into your discord account, you will also have to go into the Google 2FA app in order to get the code. The codes change every 20 seconds or so.

It's a good idea to add a backup option in case you can't access the Google app. You can add a phone number to receive SMS codes to, or download a set of backup codes that can each be used one time to login.
