First impression review of Smallrig AD-50 4685 carbon fibre video tripod as we unbox our new package

Описание к видео First impression review of Smallrig AD-50 4685 carbon fibre video tripod as we unbox our new package

We owned a unit of the Smallrig Freeblazer AD-01 tripod before, and had a positive impression of it being a decently built budget tripod. It worked fine for us, but we sold it off together with a camera as a turnkey shooting package.
Upon hearing about the new AD-50, we took the leap of faith and purchased it. Haven't touched, seen or felt the actual product and ordered it from just viewing two other brief online reviews of it.

To disclaim, we bought this with our own money, not sponsored, so we won't hold back on our views. If its not worthy for our money or expectations, we won't hesitate calling it bad.

Long story short, Price point vs usability, don't expect much.
It is a super entry level tripod, video head is useable, not great. The carbon legs is decently well-built, but felt too shaky, perhaps due to the rubber feet design.

Update We used it for one event in carpet flooring, so we retracted the rubber feet and used the spikes. It felt more stable than on the rubber feet. We really hated that the pan bar mounting rosette is plastic.

Will we buy another unit of AD-50 to add in our inventory? Maybe.
Will we use it for rugged and rough use? Yes.
We will try deploying it for a few jobs and see how it feels.
