Yep, I was given a Switch 2 for free. I have plans for Mario Kart World content but I wanted to do some research for the speedrunning community.

My inital thoughts were, would V1.0 cartridges be the future of the Switch 1 speedrunning meta thanks to the powerboost the Switch 2 has.

The results:
Despite not owning any authentic digital editions on the games I've covered here, all of them were faster on a Switch 2 with differences going as high as a second and as low as under 10 frames but something tells me that a digital download to the internal NAND from a Switch 1 will still be faster than a cartridge running on a Switch 2.

Also play Bayonetta 3, that game felt so much better on the Switch 2.
