So, a bit of context:

Larry has gotten himself into trouble once again (at this point, it's like the sixth time...). Normally, Phoenix would defend him, but this time he's nowhere to be found. Athena takes the case - and for the first time, she's completely on her own.
On the other side stands Prosecutor Blackquill: confident, composed, and with no intention of yielding easily.

Athena eventually manages to dismantle every one of Blackquill's arguments... but he still has one final ace up his sleeve.
One last witness - Phoenix himself.

His solid, irrefutable testimony finally breaks Athena, and the scene above takes place immediately afterward.
