This is a cellular remote starter that I made for a diesel f-250. It can also be used on other vehicles too. The cellular module I used is available from eleckfreaks and is Arduino compatible. It requires a SIM card and service plan, I just used a prepaid card.

Here's how it works:
Send a text message to the device that contains a the security pin and the command. When the device receives the sms, it will parse the message, confirm the pin is correct and if it is it will execute the command. As of right now there are only commands to start and stop the car as well as change the pin. Later I will add lock and unlock commands. This system was developed to warm up your car before you get in.
