Your life is connected to the five luminous mysteries: Baptism of the Lord, Wedding at Cana, Proclamation of the kingdom, Transfiguration, and Institution of the Eucharist.

Baptism of the Lord. How is this mystery connected to us?

The joyful mysteries have announced the good news into your life. You volunteered to serve, discover God unexpectedly, and follow the rules and traditions, and even if you lose the initial joy, you rediscover our calling.

Baptism of the Lord is your readiness to commit to growing in the life of the spirit in a faith community. Your commitment enables us to receive the blessing of adoption – God initiates a new life for you. Baptismal commitment lifts your joy to a new level.

Wedding at Cana. No way the wedding feast at Cana is related to my life. Yes, it may be Jesus' first miracle. Think of the wedding at Cana as a miracle of abundance. Once you are baptized and committed, you begin to experience abundance. Experience of abundance is a key indicator of life in Christ.

Proclamation of the Kingdom. The commitment of baptism and the experience of abundance bring clarity in life. You crystalize your mission- something concrete yet demanding. You want to share the abundance with others. Therefore, you will say, I will do this for the lord or God has called me to do it.

Transfiguration. Now, what transfiguration has to do with me? Jesus manifested his followers the real glory yet to come. You do have a foretaste to what it means to be connected to God. you begin to see yourself as part of something bigger than yourself, even unworthy yet blessed.

Institution of the Eucharist: Yes, now you get it. Eucharist is an offering for the sake of others. Jesus gave himself for the sake of humanity. You willingly offer yourselves that others may have life in fulness. You display behaviors of self-sacrifice motivated by what God has done.

Both the joyful and luminous mysteries become the quintessential quality of being a follower of Christ. Its point of departure to face the storms of life and the glory that follows.

Luminous mysteries draw you into a deeper commitment, enable you to experience abundance, clarifies your mission on earth, offer you a foretaste of what is to come, and leads to into an ultimate act of service.

Once you soak yourself into the joyful and luminous mysteries, your journey enters a difficult phase of the sorrowful mysteries. The grace to go through the sorrowful mysteries depends on your experience of the joyful and luminous mysteries.
