YHWH’s Deliverer
Exodus 2:11-25, 1 Timothy 1:17 – Part 3

Introduction
These are amazing days and times. We are wise to view them through the lens of Scripture. Do you know what is going to happen next, prophetically speaking? Are you able to superimpose the prophecies of the Bible over the news that is reported? Can you see YHWH/s hand orchestrating and preparing the world for the Second Coming of His Son, YHWH Yeshua?

1.Moses Chooses His Hebrew Heritage (vv. 11-15)
Acts 7:22 says Moses was “learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and mighty in words and deeds.”
Moses kills the Egyptian taskmaster and hides his body in the sand.
Moses wasn’t foolishly impulsive; he was choosing to defend and “throw in” with the Hebrew slaves.
Moses was acting in faith, having seen Him who is INVISIBLE!
2. Moses Content in Midian (vv. 16-22)
Moses was in the place YHWH wanted him to be – 40 more years of preparation!
3. Hebrews’ Cries for Help Acknowledged by YHWH (vv. 23-25)
YHWH heard! YHWH remembered!!

Timeless Truth
Exodus 2:16-25 is easy to read and dismiss. What a mistake it would be to do that. Oh, how powerfully these verses describe in low-key narrative the events that led to Moses spending the 2nd 40 years of his life as a shepherd in the Sinai Desert. But if you take the time to notice, YHWH’s fingerprints are all over this narrative. YHWH was orchestrating and manipulating and guiding the circumstances and people and events that resulted in Moses being in the right place at the right time for him to be prepared to be YHWH’s chosen to be the “deliverer” of His people Israel.
These verses, especially the last two, teach us about the greatness and awesomeness of YHWH. These verses teach us why Moses left Egypt to live in the deserts of Sinai. The verses teach us that YHWH is “above” time and “beyond” our understanding. These verses help us recognize that YHWH’s Word is absolutely inviolable. And so much more! These verses help us understand why we ought to fall on our knees and worship YHWH with everything that is in us.

Living Lesson
When we read YHWH’s Word, we are wise to take the time to “process” what it is saying. Don’t rush through the details of the passage just to get the big picture. Stop and smell the roses! Imagine Moses sitting by the well and watching as the shepherds drive those seven sisters away from the water so their sheep cannot drink. What was Moses to do? YHWH was at work. YHWH was working the ‘marionette control bars’ and making “all things work together for good” according to His plans and purposes. The result was that Moses was “content” in Midian for forty years as YHWH prepared him for the last forty years.
I’m not telling you to ‘allegorize’ the Scriptures, making them say something they are not saying. But I am encouraging you to take the time to let the powerful truths embedded in the text impact you and lead you to a deeper and fuller relationship with YHWH. And that, because you have come to know Him and His love in a much more intimate and personal way.
