Marco Minnemann feat. Kendall Yates ‘Everyone’s So Shy’

The idea of creating a hypnotic musical landscape, anchored by a focused groove and bass line, was the driving force behind this new composition called ‘Everyone’s So Shy’. That sort of sound design I felt was essential in carrying and underlining the lyrical darkness the song showcases.
I felt that Kendall Yates was the perfect vocalist for this piece, as her voice provides a mixture of sensibility and emotional delicate timbre the composition desires.
Her vocal frequency range blends in excellently with my writing style, as her tone cuts gentle and smooth, which gives a lot of transparency within the multitracks. It’s ear candy for me and also a pleasure to mix in the audio production stages.
As far as my voice of instruments goes: I played a PRS McCarty for the main riff, a Strandberg Sälen for FX and solo spots, a Fender Precision Bass and my DW Purple Heart Kit along with a variety of Zildjian cymbals. I also used the UA organ B3 plug in, which creates the haunting drone underneath the pace of the music.
