This is just video proof that 3 explosion finishers is better than 3 guard breaks + 1 explosion.

The reason is because Lingering Will has armour. And every hit you deal with a combo finisher reduces that armour. Since Explosion deals many hits, each explosion reduces his armour by a lot, meaning future combos will deal more damage.
