What the heck does that mean?
I'm objecting but then you're telling me to go ahead and answer a question that you just objected to? That makes NO sense!

Let me explain...

When you bring a lawsuit seeking money as a form of compensation, that's a civil case. Nobody is losing their license to practice medicine. Nobody is going to jail.

During the course of your lawsuit the attorney who represents the people you've sued have a right to ask you questions about what happened to you.

That's known as a deposition. It's really pretrial testimony. We also call it an examination before trial. The answers you give to those questions carry the same exact weight as if your'e testifying at trial. The only real difference is that this is taking place in an attorney's conference room and there's no judge present and there's no jury present.

But there is a court stenographer there to record all of the questions you're asked and all of the answers you give.

During your questioning, there is likely going to be a question you're asked that is improper. I will make an objection to the question and likely tell you to go ahead and answer the question anyway.

Why?
