WAKO: Miami Fight Night 1981

I was ringside. What a great card.

Mike Anderson was the promoter. He was trying to create a new organization, the World Kickboxing and Karate Association (WKKA) I think.

He create the PKA in 1974 with a 90-minute ABC TV Special Event that established Joe Lewis, Jeff Smith, and Bill Wallace as the new sport's heroes.

Mike then created the WAKO in Germany with his friend/student Georg Bruckner.
