Teaching distracted & tired 6yo who has weak arms Grade 1 Burgmuller

Missed the lesson before apologies...

LOCATION: HONG KONG Muso Academy

Week 2 of Yannick learning Grade 1 La Candeur and L'Arabesque Burgmuller (and supposedly a third piece, but we didn't get to touch it this lesson). He's doing more technical pieces to increase his motor skills. I am able to do to thanks to his amazing & dedicated Mummy for ensuring his previous 6-Month Fingers Exercise, Schmitt, Hanon and Scales get all done.

This lesson Yannick did his absolute best but you can see he was tired and a little bit distracted today. Also needed to go to Mum a few times for comfort. Noticed that he started to go into La La Land and I tried the '3 2 1' tactic but it didn't work. SO what to do?

I told him to 'catch' the soft toy to refocus him and it worked! So when you are a Muso-Method teacher you are always trying to find new ways to engage the kids in a fun and serious way.
