How to get rid of smoke smell in a car with an Ozone Generator

As many people will learn, purchasing a used car can be loaded with surprises. A smoke smell present in the interior can be one of them.

Instead of using chemicals to mask the smell for a short time, you might want to look into a more permanent fix to resolve the terrible smell. Chemical solutions are bad and won't do the job. The logical solution, as many auto detailers, will say is to use an ozone generator to fix the smell. Of course, who can afford that $1,000 machine? Well, there's a large consumer market for this. I'm not talking about the cheap ozone generators on eBay that only work for light smoke and minor water issues. I tried out several ozone generators and landed with a certain one, as shown in this video.

Hopefully, this videos helps others that are searching for a solution to remediate the smoke smell in their new pre-owned vehicle.

UPDATE: I had to do 4 x 30 mins sessions to get rid of the smoke smell in this vehicle featured.

Things I learned:
1) Setup and time the Ozone Generator treatment with car ON with air recirculating, fan on high, remove pollen filter.
2) Use the Ozone Generator treatment for 30 mins session only
3) After every 30 mins, turn off the car. Let the car sit for 2 hrs before driving.
4) Review results and redo for another 30 mins another date as needed.
