After the United States Grand Prix in Texas, Ferrari's team principal, Frederic Vasseur, clarified that while the team wasn’t formally announcing any updates for the Austin race weekend, this didn't imply they hadn’t brought anything to the track. He stressed the importance of clear communication regarding updates related to the car's external shapes.

The Austin weekend represented a crucial test for Ferrari, as they needed to evaluate the performance of their aerodynamic updates introduced after the summer break on a traditional circuit—very different from the street courses that had previously hosted races in the 2024 Formula 1 championship, including the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan and the Marina Bay street circuit in Singapore. Fortunately, Ferrari passed this test with impressive results.

The one-two finish achieved by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz at the 5.513-kilometer Circuit of The Americas in Austin opens up new possibilities for Ferrari’s 2024 Formula 1 season. While the math still allows for some optimism in the Constructors' Championship, it goes beyond mere numbers. This one-two result encapsulates months of hard work that began following the disappointing update package introduced at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, which significantly hindered the team's season. A response was essential, but in Formula 1, adequate time is necessary to design, manufacture, and implement corrections on the track.
