Three paramilitary commandos were killed and several others were wounded when suicide bombers and gunmen launched a coordinated attack on the Frontier Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar, Pakistan. The assault began on Monday morning when a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the main gate, allowing armed attackers to breach the compound where 150 security personnel had gathered for morning parade drills. Three attackers were killed- one who detonated the explosives and two gunmen shot dead by security forces. According to Al Jazeera, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a Pakistan Taliban faction, claimed responsibility for the attack. The assault comes amid a surge in militant violence, with Pakistan recording over 1,500 terrorism-related incidents in 2025, putting pressure on relations between Islamabad and Afghanistan's Taliban government.
