The Online Handbook Launch of the Routledge Handbook of Architecture, Urban Space and Politics (Volume I, 2022 & Volume II, 2024) occurred over 4 days, 6–9 May 2025. The event was an opportunity to hear directly from the authors to discuss how architecture and urban space intersect with politics, as well as engage in a lively and inclusive conversation across all the participants and audiences.

Episode 1: Tuesday, 06.05.2025: Violence in the Age of Mediated Spectacle
Episode 2: Wednesday, 07.05.2025: Dissidence and Urban Commons
Episode 3: Thursday, 08.05.2025: Ecologies of Climate, Ethics and Postcolonialism
Episode 4: Friday, 09.05.2025: Spatial Practises in Futures to Come

The event was led by the co-editors of these two volumes (Dr Nikolina Bobic, University of Plymouth, UK & Dr Farzaneh Haghighi, University of Auckland, New Zealand) and chaired by Professor Stephen Walker (Manchester School of Architecture, UK) & Associate Professor Dagmar Reinhardt (University of Sydney, Australia).
Over 105 scholars and practitioners contributed across the 2 volumes and 68 chapters, a research project which provides cutting-edge contemporary debates on political role of architecture and urban space, in addition to a study of actual projects from around the world that address spatial politics.
