Austria Top 3 Sights to Visit: Salzburg, Hallstatt & Vienna. Welcome to my solo trip to Austria! Our first stop is Salzburg, famous as the filming location for The Sound of Music. We'll visit three iconic places from the movie and retrace the footsteps of the Von Trapp family. Locations include the Schloss Leopoldskron, that served as the exterior of the Von Trapp family home, the Mirabell Gardens where Maria and the children sang Do Re Mi, and last but not least, we'll see the gazebo where Liesl and Rolf sang 16 Going on 17. Afterwards, we'll check out Mozart's Birthplace & Residence as well as a cafe named after the famous composer. Later in the evening, we'll attend a Mozart dinner concert!

A few hours away from Salzburg is our 2nd destination: Hallstatt, famous for its gorgeous alpine views and its salt mine, known as the oldest salt mine in the world. Afterwards, we'll go to our 3rd destination, Vienna, and visit its stunning imperial palaces.

And the fun's not over yet! Before we head home, we'll take a one hour flight to Germany to explore its Bavarian region.
