Here is a short solo - while I was practicing.........the rules for this solo were (ideas from my former drum teacher Rene Creemers):

Rule 1: no time / pulse - rubato
Rule 2: motivic development
Rule 3: creating "melodies"
Rule 4: using rolls mainly on the drums!
