On April 11, 2017 at the Goodyear Theater in downtown Akron, LeBron James, the LeBron James Family Foundation, David James (Superintendent of Akron Public Schools), Patrick Bravo (President of the Akron Board of Education) and Marco Sommerville (Special Assistant to the Mayor of the City of Akron) presented the amazing news of a new school coming to Akron. The "I Promise School" is a result of partnership between the LBJFF and APS. With the support and aid of many other Akron community partners, this school will definitely deliver on it's "promise."
