After 35 days in detention, Gen Kale Kayihura finally speaks out

The lawyers of former Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura are calling on President Museveni, who is the commander in chief, to restrain the Internal Security Organization (ISO) from dehumanizing their client in the media.

Speaking at Kampala Associated Advocates offices, Lawyer Jet Tumwebaze said he has instructions from the General who has been in military detention for 35 days.

Tumwebaze says Kayihura still believes in the military judicial process and has not applied for a writ of habeas corpus to challenge his detention beyond 48 hours.
