Today, Trevor is going over some details on different ways to heat your home without electricity. Both of these types of units are able to work "off the grid", but which one is easier to install and more cost effective? Watch as Trevor breaks down the difference between these two sources of heat.

Gas heat has some really nice benefits and some cons. The biggest benefit of gas heating is the install. The piping for gas heat is a lot easier to install and easier to pipe out of the hoise rather than a wood stove. Another positive is the ease of use with a gas fireplace. As Trevor explains, it's a lot more convenient to wake up and turn on your gas fireplace compared to a wood burning fireplace. One of the biggest cons is that while you are somewhat off the grid you are not fully able to heat your house with out some source of gas.

Wood heat has both some negatives and positives as well. One of the biggest negatives of wood heat is the start up time and maintaining the fire. Most people dont have a lot of time in the morning to tend their fire making it somewhat difficult to warm up quickly! I think the biggest positive is that with wood burning fireplces is that you are truly off the grid if you havea good source of wood.
