Driven Stories: Conversations with Car Enthusiasts

This piece of work was made and developed as a Final, "Major Project" for my RMIT Bachelor of Arts Course for Photography. I always wanted to pursue videography on top of that at some stage and utilised this course to make that happen. 'Driven Stories' was constructed in order to further my skills with film production and post production and build a piece of work that I am both really passionate about and something close to what I am inspired by from other artists. The idea for “Conversations with Car Enthusiasts” came from my Social Documentary work ('More than Transportation', which has since been made private), I created a video in which I was not too proud of and wanted to refine and build upon and that led to this piece of work. The aim of this video was to introduce various people from a community in which I am very involved in, The Car Community. A lot of people may not understand what it means to own these vehicles so I hope that my short documentary furthers their understanding on the subject.

This Project has involved 14 weeks of planning and refinement to get to where it has as well as a lot of learning and various videos online to edit it in a way that I am happy of. Ultimately, I am very happy with the outcome and of course I know that looking back on this piece in the future I will criticise it and see things to improve but that's all apart of the process, improvements will come through experience and time.
