My abstract paintings are an expression of my thoughts and feelings. I often figure out what I'm truly thinking and feeling by seeing what comes out on the canvas.
This painting started out with the restriction of using only reds and blues and clearly I felt resentful of the restriction and my rebelliousness came to the surface. Not only did I add in some yellow earth tones to contrast the red and blue paint - I also somehow tapped into the rebellious energy of graffiti art in the style of my brush-strokes and the shapes I created on the canvas.

I think it's awesome what happened here. Painting this painting allowed me to tap into emotional energies in myself that are incredibly powerful and kinda amazing. I'm grateful to have discovered these aspects of myself. I love making art. I love painting. I especially love the self-awareness I gain from each abstract painting process.
