Marti Ilmar Uibo is a drummer, percussionist and singer interested in a wide range of styles and collaborations. He studied drums at Music Academy International (Nancy, France) and Strasbourg Conservatory of Music with Ed Thigpen, Roy Haynes, Dirk Verbeuren, Franck Agulhon, Daniel Humair, Joelle Léandre... Percussions with masters Adel Shams El Din, Amit Chatterjee, Carlo Rizzo. And traditional singing at Viljandi Folk Academy (Estonia), Rabat Conservatory of Andalusian Music (Morocco), and Paris Medieval Music Center. 

He toured in Europe, South America, Asia and performed at some of the biggest festivals in Europe such as HellFest, Wacken, Meteo and in famous cultural places such as Musique Action, la Philharmonie de Paris, la Cigale... 

Now, he spend time playing with the viking band Skáld (Decca records/Deutsche gramaphon - part of Universal music), metal act Necrowretch (Season of Mist), ethno jazz Julnar, and early music Ensemble Tormis. 

Besides performing, he creates a large range of original workshops for singers, percussionists, unemployed persons and people in precarious situation.
