Excerpted from Pink Martini's live concert at Edgefield in Portland, "U plavu zoru" is an original Pink Martini song in Croatian, which bandleader Thomas Lauderdale and Pink Martini co-wrote with Thomas's Croatian neighbor Mario Lalich, first heard on the band's second album, "Hang on Little Tomato." Filmed on a rainy day in September 2021, soon after the band started touring again after a long hiatus during quarantine, this video is excerpted from an epic 3-hour concert that will be broadcast starting May 7, for Mother's Day weekend, on ourconcerts.live. This performance features Pansy Chang on cello, China Forbes on lead vocals, and Thomas Barber on trumpet.

When the band joins in with Pansy Chang's cello, the music is meant to evoke a train accelerating as it leaves a station. This train is referenced in the song's lyrics as well (in Croatian below followed by English translation).

This song was recently featured in the new Netflix film, The Weekend Away (2022).
