Nearing the end of a franchise's golden age before Tsuburaya proceed to focus more on movies instead, the series' continuity shifts back to the same universe protected by the classic Ultramen during the Showa era, in which after 25 years of peace, a new age of monsters and aliens has begun, led by the Ultimate Evil of the universe.
